I wasn’t expecting miracles for $9, but I should at least get a year out of something whose only job is to slice a delicate hard boiled egg. Nope. This garbage lasted 2 weeks. After the first use, two of the wires became “slack” and very loose. Second use the hinge holding the two pieces together just popped apart. They snap back together, but now even the slightest pressure pulles them apart again. This is cheap garbage—even by China standards. I will be looking for a slicer where the wires aren’t fed directly into a plastic mold; they loosen every time. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this product.
This egg slicer is waaay more expensive than it's worth. It's too small to slice a large egg and is not designed for horizontal slicing. Mushrooms? Don't know because the first time I tried it one of the wires broke. Obviously didn't get a chance to try it on a strawberry but don't suppose results would have been great. I'll go back to my Ducky slicer that cost me considerably less.
This serves its purpose. Well-constructed and easy to clean.
I received this in the mail today and promptly used it on 5 strawberries I picked from the garden. Didn't go through the whole strawberry and the wires were loose. Also the 2 halves popped apart while using. I was able to put it back together. I will save it for hard boiled eggs but will have to find something else for strawberries.

It is ok but it is difficult to slice. Not really smooth.
I used this twice before it started to snap apart. Now I have to push the egg through the strings to get it to slice.
This is exactly what I expected, a very basic plastic hard boiled egg slicer with metal (hopefully stainless steel) wires. When I press on the wires, they are thin and have a bit of “give” (spring) to them. Do I think this will slice potatoes and avocados as advertised? Absolutely not. But I plan to use it only for hard boiled eggs, so hopefully it will last for a while and the wires will stay intact. I will update my review if anything changes. Considering that this shipped all the way from China, most of the $9.99 purchase price plus tax that I paid must be in the shipping cost. But it was convenient to get it right at my door, so that’s worth the price I paid. In the month since I ordered this, I see that the price is now $1 less at $8.99. Not sure what that’s about...I guess I bought right ahead of the big sale. It took almost 3 weeks to arrive, but that was about what Amazon estimated and I was not expecting it any earlier.
I recommend this purchase so far, but be warned that this is probably suitable for only eggs.
