The slicer works fine, but it is obnoxiously big and takes up way too much space. The free silicone thing is a joke and so tiny it's unusable.
The pin that the slicer pivots on was too short or defective. The two halves held together by the pin fell apart because the pin didn't hold them together. JUNK!

The slicer arrived in 2 pieces with no hinge pin, or maybe the hinge pin was broken. Either way it is very difficult to align the two halves to slice properly since they are not hinged together. For the price and the fact that it still works somewhat I decided not to return it (too much hassle). I mostly cooked my eggs poached now anyway.
