I use a lot of garlic when cooking and have gone through many different presses and choppers, but I love this one. It is strong enough to mash through garlic like a champ. And all the garlic you mash collects on top making it easy to transfer to pots and pans. It does chop garlic into pieces and does not mash it to a pulp, which I like. Plus, it is easy to clean and being stainless, it doesn't retain odors so your cabinets and drawers won't smell like garlic. WIN
First, I love the little roller to remove the skin of the cloves. Second, I love that this is stainless steel with really easy cleanup. It was much easier to use than expected. Some of the reviews cited that it was difficult on the hands and required hand strength. I almost did not purchase it because of this. I put a large clove on a cutting board and rocked the tool over the garlic with the use of my body weight - not my hand strength. It was much easier than expected to grate the cloves. The grated pieces are larger than expected. It does not just smash the clove like my little handheld garlic press. Instead it grates the garlic into little chunks. I would recommend this tool if you do a lot of cooking with fresh garlic.
I bought this in place of a traditional garlic press, but it's both annoying and messy to use. A little garlic made it through the holes before they got too plugged up, at which point it just crushed the garlic all over my cutting board until I'd meticulously cleaned it out. In the end, I gave up and just minced the garlic with a knife.
Save yourself the money and just buy a real garlic press.
This is a clone of the Joseph & Joseph version. I had their first version which has a metal center, with plastic "handles", and is a great kitchen gadget (and I really don't like most kitchen gadgets, I usually use a knife). When the plastic eventually cracked I looked for a replacement. I didn't realize this was a clone. The main thing I don't like about the clone is that the holes in it are bigger than the original - so the garlic isn't minced as small.
I wish I'd looked more carefully, Joseph & Joseph have their own all-metal version for only a few dollars more.
First of all I don't know what grade stainless steel this is because it smelled like metal. It doesn't do much except squash the garlic. The few pieces that actually chopped off were stuck in the large holes and had to be poked out. The bonus garlic peeler did not seem like high grade silicone. It was hard plastic and it had a strong toxic plastic smell that did not wash out. It also did nothing to peel the garlic. It was very large and stiff.

I can't express how much I love this thing. The first garlic press I had was plastic and it broke after a couple uses. II garlic press I got was stainless steel and didn't work much better. This Walker on the other hand I absolutely love it. Spray it with a little cooking oil and it's easier to clean period and easier to get all the garlic bits out.
I ordered the garlic “rocker” and received the garlic peeler as a gift. I had seen these garlic peelers before but never owned one. They are wonderful! So simple, yet so effective. It peels your garlic in an instant. I also like the garlic rocker/crusher. Again, simple design but in stainless steel instead of chrome or aluminum, it’s made to last! Both great products. I would buy as gifts for friends and family.
I do a lot of cooking and we use a lot of garlic. This works well if you need larger chunks of garlic in your dish. With bigger pieces, the garlic doesn't over power the other tastes. But if you need very fine garlic, this doesn't cut it. I've tried putting the garlic through this more than once, but that just doesn't work too well.
I'm glad I got this, but to me, a garlic press makes very fine garlic pieces.
