This is cute, but apparently you have to really be careful with their quality control, because one of these is very, very (paper) thin in one side. The other side is ok, and the other “chick” is ok. But I was giving these as a cute add on gift for two “chefs” in our family...this isn’t acceptable and not something I can gift. If it weren’t for the fact that I needed 2, I would just toss the yellow one and keep the pink. But this will break as soon as you try to use it, so it’s definitely not something I would use (for the one time before it likely broke, also wasting my egg(s) that would possibly have ceramic pieces in it) so I most definitely wouldn’t be giving it as a gift. It’s cute, but the fact that no one is checking these for consistency seems a bit strange. A shame indeed as I thought it would make such a cute gift to the set of utensils I was also gifting. So if you still want to order, just know you’ll need to check it for issues. Maybe you’ll have better luck.🤷🏼♀️🤞🏼
I ordered a set of these chicks and kept one at my house and sent the second one to my grandchildren's house. This was a cute addition to our kitchen tool collection.
It's important to gentle sway the chickie back and forth to ease the egg white out. It works perfectly but you must be patient for the egg white to ooze out.
My sweet five year old granddaughter thinks this would be perfect if there was a little handle to hold onto the separator. She believes her hands are too teeny to hold her cute chickie.
I buy eggs from Costco. For some reason these eggs don’t work in this. The egg whites are very thick so maybe that is why. When I crack the egg into it and try to pour out the whites it simply gets stuck. I tried it right out of the fridge and at room temperature. It’s really cute and I wish it worked for me!
