My first egg slicer. This one was very inexpensive compared to many others on Amazon. It comes in an easy to open box with no cleaning instructions. So my instruction to you is to HAND WASH this egg slicer. DO NOT USE YOUR DISHWASHER TO CLEAN IT !!! or the aluminum WILL DISCOLOR and HAVE AN AWFUL FEEL. Using a dishwasher will ruin any non exterior coated aluminum item. You will need to throw it way if you do.It is easy to clean by hand. If eggs bits gets in between any grooves, simply use a toothbrush to remove it. With that out of the way, this egg slicer is a shiny aluminum slicer with stainless wires. The footprint is 4 1/4" wide x 4 1/2" long. The front top of the slicer protrudes further than the bottom so the unit is overall 5" long and 1 1/4" high. There is one continuous wire that makes up the 10 slicing wires and the wires are about 3/16" apart. It slices fairly thin slices for a total of 11 pieces. The two end pieces can be thicker than the other pieces. The wire was strung tight except the last wire but it was tight enough to cut through my egg with no problem. The two ends of the wire are attached by screws so if the wire happens to snap, I wonder if one can just restring it like a guitar but I hope I do not need to find out. I tried it with a hard boiled egg. It sliced the egg easily but you do need to push the front of the egg using your thumb with one hand and with the other hand bring down top until the slicing wire cuts half way through the egg and then remove your thumb. It sliced nice clean pieces. The egg well is grooved to slice the egg horizontally or vertically so you can slice it either way but it is not very deep hence you need to use your thumb to keep it in place. The egg slicer does not rotate. It fits a large egg, It might fit an extra large egg with the end pieces being thick but a jumbo egg is pushing it. I have not and probably will not use it for anything but for slicing eggs. Love it so far. Lets see how long the wire last. I will update if anything changes.

This is an aluminum egg slicer that works perfectly and will stand the test of time. Do not place this egg slicer in the dishwasher, it will tarnish from the chlorine in the dish soap solution. Unless you like using a brillo pad to hand scrub it shinny again. All in all its a great egg Slicer!
Don't put it through the dishwasher!
I know better than to put aluminum in the dishwasher, but for some reason I managed to do it, and it took a lot of effort to get this slicer semi-shiny again. It's very easy to clean this thing with a small brush I keep at the sink, and I don't think I will make the mistake of putting it in the dishwasher again!
The slicer works quite well, but it leaves large pieces at each end. In other words, it could had another wire or two. But since the yolk doesn't extend into the ends anyway, that's probably a moot point.
This thing is not dishwasher safe. We put it through the dishwasher before using it and it turned black and disgusting looking. Every time we touch it, black dust is all over our hands. 0/10, would not buy again. This thing looks like it was lifted from an apartment block in Chernobyl. No way would I use this peice of diseases looking scrap metal come anywhere near my food.
Classic egg slicer, still the best and most valuable tool in any restaurant salad station! Do not put through dish machine. Hand wash only! But if you do and it leaves black marks, keep washing, it will go away .

I just love this egg slicer. I checked out a whole bunch of them and this one seemed to be exactly what I wanted. It does a perfect job and is well made. But, don't ever put it in the dishwasher. It will ruin the finish on it. It is very easy to wash by hand. Even jumbo eggs are easy to slice or dice with this slicer. I would recommend it to anyone and the seller is very reliable and prompt. Easily five stars.
Terrible product!! Washed one time and it turned black and turned everything black!!
I love this. Awesome and efficient
This product is good. It will likely last about 3-4 years with weekly use or about 2200 mushrooms. Minus one star because the wire looks like it can be replaced but I couldn't find one for less than the price of a new slicer.
Pure rubbish. The coating came off when you rubbed it with your finger or cloth.
