Ok, I'll admit I smiled when I opened up the little package this came it. Mr. Snot-A-Mug is whimsical, and it works. However it still suffers the limitations of just about every other egg-separator out there: you can only separate one egg at a time. While it looks like you could put three or four eggs in at once, the separator holes (i.e., nostrils) are set rather low (I guess which makes sense anatomically) which means in reality at most you can put two eggs in at the same time. And even then, you won't get a complete egg separation. Since the holes are in the nose which protrudes outward, every time you tip the rig to separate the yolks slide into the nose and block the holes (congestion?). There's always some white left! Oh well, it works, it looks funny, and the wife likes it, so...win?
Had a friend who was having nose surgery so as a pick-me-up, I used this silly egg separator as a vase and had our local florist put flowers in it. My friend got a real chuckle from it. Note: nostrils need to be plugged before watering the flowers if you use as vase--ha! Put some florist clay in them.
This egg separator makes us laugh silly as we cook and bake. Of course we have to add our own comments for the guy like, "Ohhhhh! I don't feel too well." This product makes kitchen duties fun.
I've had mine for years and keep it in the cupboard where I can see it so it makes me giggle each time I reach for the salt. I give it as a gift to moms of toddlers or new grandmas.
doesn't work at all with refrigerated eggs. has the capacity for at least 6 eggs at a time. quality is good. paint job is nice but not what i expected.
I had a Snot-A-Mug egg separator before, but it fell casualty to our over-sized sheepdog and the tile floor. Needless to say, I was happy to see that I could purchase one online and not have to wait until our next trip to Kittery, ME. It may not be the most functional egg separator in the world, but it is certainly a conversation piece and works great as a decorative wooden spoon holder, as it is used in our household. That said, you can, in fact, separate eggs with the Snot-A-Mug just fine.

Yes, S'not a Mug is cute but not very functional. I separated one egg, put the yolk in a separate cup, and then added two eggs to see what would happen. Besides the first egg's "snot" leaving a little mess on my counter top (I'll place the mug on a plate next time), one nostril got "clogged" with a yolk. I put a spoon inside the mug to hold the yolk back, but the yolk broke, and then I had the same problem with the second yolk.
I can see this being a big hit for those of you that have young children/grandchildren and ask them to separate an egg or two. Just my opinion, but I'd think S'not a Mug would prove too time consuming for any recipe requiring the separating of more than 2 eggs.
