[Disclaimer: I ordered this for my wife, who is an amateur gourmet. I'm conveying her review. I ordered several peelers (all online -- thanks a lot, covid) because she had an old peeler that she really liked, but it has aged and she wanted/needed a new one. She's pretty particular about her cooking tools(!)) This is the 2nd best peeler out of the various peelers that we ordered. The best (and still undefeated) is Spring Chef Premium Swivel Vegetable Peeler. Both peelers cost about the same, roughly $9+ (very good price for the quality of each). Both are much better quality than the usual peelers (prices from $2 on up). They are both easy to hold and use, with the Spring Chef ('SC') edging out the Cave Tools ('CT') because the SC handle is bigger and more comfortable to hold for long periods. Both peeled very smoothly and easily (they are sharp!), with the SC winning again by a narrow margin because it is easier to make thinner peelings more easily (in our experience). Recommendation: get one of each, they are both excellent quality for the price and they are useful for different tasks. The Spring Chef is first choice for 'just peeling' (ie getting rid of skin such as from potatoes). The Cave Tools cuts a bigger peel and is perfect for cutting up vegetables (carrots, for example) to put into salads or dishes that need bigger chunks (for example, soups, Asian-style seafood 'pancakes' (Korean specialty, delicious - google it), salads, etc.) My wife strongly protested when I told her she had to pick just one - she 'must have' both of them. So - buy one of each!
This is a solid smooth peeler. Good construction quality and sharp blades. The only thing I don't like about it, is peels tend to build up and get stuck behind the guard on the other side of the blade. Not a huge issue, you just have to remember to pull out peels every so often.... unless you're peeling tons of veggies all the time, then maybe try a different design. Pretty good for me overall though. Give it a try (especially if it's for the house, and not a restaurant/professional setting).
For safety reasons, the sturdy handle provides a very good grip. My first attempt at peeling a cucumber using an inferior product resulted in copious amounts of blood and a year of psychotherapy. This peeler is definitely worth the price.
When first purchased 6 months ago, I was well pleased with this peeler, especially that it could go in the dishwasher.
Now I know, DON'T PUT IT IN THE DISHWASHER! The heat from the dishwasher has warped the plastic insert of the handle in such a way that is makes it very uncomfortable to hold. And NO, you cannot push the handle back into place, it is very rigid
It has done all the potatoes and cucumbers and like veggies with ease. I chose it because of the grip. I have not had any episodes where it has slipped from my grasp.

Phase 1: Initial Market Research
At Cave Tools, we always start out with an extremely thorough market research. Before designing the citrus peeler you see here, our product development team scoured through thousands of reviews on the then best stainless steel vegetable and fruit peelers in the market. During this potato peeler review process, we learn a ton of information about what actual customers love about their cucumber hand peeler, what they hate about their peeler bar tool, and most importantly, we’re able to spot opportunities in the market to add new features. We even learn a lot about what makes a good kitchen tool gift set.
Phase 2: Market Surveying and Polling
After Phase 1 we have a pretty good idea of the type of cooking accessories we want to build, but we don’t stop there. The initial research is based on feedback from other orange peeler tools in the market, which are very different from our design concept. So we follow up in Phase 2 by polling/surveying members of the Cave Tools customer base to get their feedback and input on our potential vegetable peeler and corer design. Once all of this data is compiled, we are ready to start moving forward with production
Phase 3: Continual Product Improvement

Nice peeler but felt sort of light. I like a peeler that has a little more weight to it. I feel more in control. That being said it is a nice peeler with a good handle and peels nicely.
This handy little gadget cuts a wide swath, fits easily in my hand and is super sharp.
