This thing works amazingly well. Peeling hard-boiled eggs has always been dicey for me. This does the job. Here is what I do: I put the eggs in a small pan, fill the pan with water to just cover the eggs. Turn on the stove till the water boils. Turn off the stove right after the water boils. Wait 10 minutes. Pour the water out and refill with cold water and 3 cups of ice. Let that sit for at least 5 minutes. Then use the Negg. Put on one cap, add water to the top of the cap. Put in the egg. Put on the other cap. Shake a little. Take off a cap. Pour the egg and water into my hand over the sink, then presto, slide the shell off. Works every time. The only problem is I am eating too many hard boiled eggs now because this is so easy. :)
Holy cow dude! This thing is amazing!
I haven’t made hard boiled eggs in a long time because I’m the absolute worst at peeling them and egg shells make my skin crawl. When I get an egg shell, I can’t eat anymore. I’m done.
I decided with my workout routine to try hard boiled eggs again as snacks, and I bought this little gadget to help out.
I immediately boiled 18 large eggs in the way they told me and cooked them in an ice bath for 5 minutes after the cooking was done. After 5 minutes, I put the top full of ice water inside the gadget, the egg, closed the lid, and shook.
I didn’t get what I was looking for at first and I was being too gentle. You do have to shake “vigorously” for just a few seconds. AS SOON as you see the egg shell lifted anywhere on the egg, it’s done. The water has penetrated the membrane and gone between the cooked egg and the shell.
You take the lid off, dump it into your hand, and slide the destroyed shell off like butter. It’s really that easy.
Even the cracked eggs (3/18) worked great in the machine. Actually, they worked faster because the shell and membrane were already penetrated.
I ruined one egg from shaking too hard and long, but that’s 1/18 and all the rest were perfect except one small part of another that was my fault.
(In the picture, you can see two cracked eggs. One in the center with a weird crack from leaking and one on the bottom with a big hole from the egg that leaked out)
I’d buy this again in a heartbeat! Never breaking the egg and losing pieces of shell inside will save me from getting tired of these beauties!
In all honesty, I did not expect this to work as well as it did. But when I got it, I hard boiled some eggs and tried it out. Put the egg inside with a bit of water, shook it a few times, and the egg slid right out of the shell. I was honestly amazed. Maybe it was beginner's luck, but I intend to keep using it. And I've been recommending it to family & friends.
Guys. I was so skeptical cause of the reviews but I was desperate as the holidays neared and I had 3 Christmas's to go to and everyone wanted me to make deviled eggs... I had like 50 eggs I needed to peel and i peeled 20 eggs in 10 minutes. I swear I got like 2 eggs peeled per minute (I had a timer for another food item I was making). I will say, it kinda takes getting used to. My first set of trial eggs were a disaster. You gotta find that sorta sweet spot with it. After I hard boil, I would dip an egg into an ice bath for a few seconds, fill the egg container peeler thingy with like 1/4 amount of water. Shake for a solid 5 seconds and I could peel the egg shell off like butter 😍 it made me not dread making deviled eggs anymore! Completely worth the investment!!
I tried using this several times and it just does not work. All it does is crack the shell into tiny pieces making it just as hard to peel as cracking the shell by hand. Very disappointed.

Add 1/4 cup (Negg capful) of water to the Negg. Add your hard-boiled egg and snap on the top cap.
Now you're ready to slip the egg out of its shell. SHAKE the Negg up and down with enough force so that the egg strikes the caps. Remember to take it a little easy, or you will end up with a slushy mess complete with shells.
Shake until you feel the shell begin to "soften" - approximately 4 to 12 times. Timing will vary. The body is clear so you can watch the progress.
When you see the white of the egg appear, you're done. Mission Accomplished. The egg will then slip out of its shell.
If the egg is a reluctant sheller you may have to break the membrane after shaking to get the shell to release. This can happen with extremely fresh eggs, and is not the norm.

So I did a test run with two eggs. First egg broke because I shook it too many times. My own fault. Second egg came out easy to peel. I was using Costco organic brown eggs. A bit of advice for potential customers, if you see part of the shell has come off then the egg is probably ready to peel. I kept shaking thinking the whole thing comes off as one piece together and broke the egg like that. This process was less tedious than peeling and I’ll be keeping mine. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
I bought one for me and one for my sister who always makes deviled eggs. I just could not get these to work. I followed the directions exactly. The first time I tried, I guess I shook it too hard and it disintegrated the egg. The next 5 times I tried, it did not work as advertised. The shell did not slip off. It was no different than cracking the shell and soaking it in water. I have since made boiled eggs and I'm not even going to attempt this again. In the trash, a wasted $30. Sorry guys.
I tried to return the second one but I missed the 30 day window. :(
Don’t waste your money this doesn’t work! It butchered almost an entire carton of eggs!
I very much wish this could work out, but alas, it didn't. After shaking it a few times, the egg fell apart and the egg white and shells remained in the container. You especially cannot use this if you like soft/ medium-boiled eggs, as the egg yolk will just mix with the egg white and shells as you shake it in the container. This is no better than soaking it in cold water and just peeling it manually.
