I like my eggs soft boiled, the only thing is the mess when I crack them open, and l also like to dip my bread (soldiers) into the runny yolk. The problem was the mess, getting a good clean cut of the shell large enough to get my soldier in and a spoon with a big enough opening to do it easily was difficult.
Then a saw my nephew with an egg cracker, I was amazed, these things have been around for a long time, I thought they had gone away. I ordered one immediately and it works so well I am ordering more for my kids, it cracks the egg in a perfect circle, large enough for you to dig in there, most of the time the shell comes off clean leaving the white intact, you can just cut through, sometimes the shell stays on but with the perfect crack, no mesh on the cracker, its perfect. Love it!!
I hated whacking my soft boiled eggs with a spoon and then trying to get that top off enough to actually eat the egg without messing around trying to get the shell off the egg: i never got the gift of egg whacking well enough. The brits use these things all the time: they work soooo well. Just put your cooked egg into an egg holder with the small end up, position the little bell shaped thing on top of it touching it: holding the little ball upright: pull the bell up to the top and drop it. maybe it will need two drops. Remove the cracker and walllahhh! the top will come off with a clean break and doesn't leave shell all over the place. just wonderful.
Don’t buy this if you are looking for a very clean edge on the shell. It leaves a jagged edge that breaks if you try to remove the membrane from inside of the egg.
Secondly mine arived bent the main shaft is leaning to the side when straight up and down it’s possible this is part of my problem.
The weight doesn’t pack as much punch as a spring loaded egg cracker you can buy elsewhere does. Overall the product works if you don’t intend to use the shell but dish presentations that require the shell and a razor sharp edge look else where.

Yeah, well, that’s how I felt, and I wanted to give this sort of thing a try, and this set was perfect. The cups are perfect and can comfortably hold multiple sizes of eggs (but it seems to work best with Large or Extra Large) the spoons obviously simple but just the right size to scoop out the whites and yolk, the topper cutter takes a moment to get used to but works really well, I haven’t used the quail scissors yet but one day. I’m a hgue fan of these and go through phases of using them nearly every day. Highly recommended.
I am pretty good at cracking open eggs, but every now and then I break the yolk and when I do it is so annoying. I have tried other supposed perfect egg crackers before, but they never work. I saw this product and thought, I am sure this won't work either, but since it didn't cost very much why not try it? I bought it and have been using it for several months now and have not broken a single yolk. This product is so simple and so perfect. Why hasn't anyone else thought of this before??

It's a very nice set that complements my kitchen nicely. I love making breakfast and adding soft boiled eggs to the lineup was something I've been wanting to do for a while now. This set makes that easy and is stylish. The egg cracker works great. I've yet to use the scissors as I tend to buy large eggs. That being said, when I started looking for a nice set of egg cups, I wasn't initially looking for a set that included spoons and cracker, but I'm glad I did.
Had reservations on buying this and definitely watched some videos on how to use it. Less pricey than other models, but does the trick! I’ve tried on both raw eggs and soft-boiled, finding the raw slightly easier to remove the cracked top. I only have to let the ball drop twice to get a good initial cut and use my fingernails to pull the top off. May take a couple tries, but once you get the hang of it, should work for you. One thing Is note is that it’s not ideal if you’re trying to separate yolks from whites, as the two pieces of shell aren’t the same size.
The 'clacker' bit works fine.
I would suggest getting a different pair of cups though. The eggs these are sized for are much larger than anything I've seen in a grocery store around here.
Also - dry it off quickly, or you'll see rust spots start to form where the different pieces are joined.
Good product although definitely not dishwasher safe. I put one in the dishwasher as a test and it started to rust where the base and the cup are attached. Never said in the description that it isn't dishwasher safe, hence the 4 star review.
Egg Cups trays should hold all sizes of eggs firmly. The Egg should not wiggle and therefore the bottom of the egg should not touch the bottom of the cup! I had medium eggs and they are of loose in the cup and the spoons are kind of duill. These cups and the spoons in my opinion are not worth the money! But that's what you get ordering on line!
